Keiran Burns is a born-and-bred Sneem man, well known in the village as the local butcher and farmer. He rears his own animals, runs his own abattoir, and sells fresh meat directly through his family shop, Burns Butchers in Sneem. Alongside his farming, Keiran is also the maker of the famous Sneem black pudding, a local favourite that has been enjoyed for generations.
In recent years, Keiran has been looking for new ways to make good use of everything his farm produces. With plenty of sheep on the land, he decided to turn their wool into something practical and sustainable – natural sheep’s wool fertilising pellets. By putting the wool to work, Keiran is continuing a tradition of using local resources well, while offering something that’s both useful and environmentally friendly.
